今年1月20日，北京朝陽醫(yī)院眼科醫(yī)生陶勇出診時，被其診治過的患者崔某砍傷。這起惡性傷醫(yī)事件引起社會高度關(guān)注，陶勇醫(yī)生的救治情況也牽動人心。4月13日，陶勇醫(yī)生出院。出院時，他的左手依舊沒有知覺，每天仍需要花一定時間去做復(fù)健。但誰也沒想到，5月13日，出院僅一個月的陶勇醫(yī)生便恢復(fù)出診。

This is a message exemplified by Tao Yong, director of the ophthalmology department of Beijing Chaoyang Hospital.
北京朝陽醫(yī)院眼科主任陶勇則用行動做出了示范。
Tao is known for always putting his patients first. He received as many outpatients as possible without limiting registration numbers. Sometimes, if patients did not have the money, he would even pay some of their fees.
很多人都知道陶勇一直將病人放在第一位。他的門診并不限號，盡力接診更多門診病人。有時候遇到?jīng)]錢看病的病人，他甚至還會為他們墊付一些費用。
However, on the afternoon of Jan 20, Tao suffered a vicious attack. A 36-year-old man surnamed Cui took a cleaver to the seventh floor of Chaoyang Hospital and struck Tao on the back of the head and neck. Though a patient’s mother and two colleagues tried to intervene in the attack, Tao was left severely injured and spent two weeks in the ICU.
然而，1月20日下午，陶勇卻遭遇了惡性傷醫(yī)事件。36歲的崔某持刀來到朝陽醫(yī)院7樓，砍傷陶勇的后腦和頸部。盡管一位病人的母親和兩名同事極力阻止，陶勇仍然身受重傷，在重癥監(jiān)護室待了兩周。
Despite this tragedy, Tao’s positive attitude remained strong. Speaking of his attacker, Tao told China Daily, “I don’t believe people are born good or evil. People need to be shepherded to goodness.”
經(jīng)歷這場悲劇后，陶勇的內(nèi)心依然強大。談及襲醫(yī)者，他在接受《中國日報》采訪時如此表示：“我不相信人性本善或人性本惡。人是需要被引導(dǎo)向善的?！?/span>
For Tao, keeping a healthy mentality is very important, even in the face of disease and pain.
對于陶勇而言，保持健康的心態(tài)至關(guān)重要，哪怕面對的是疾病與痛苦。
On Jan 26, while still in the ICU, Tao wrote the poem My Dream, which he hoped would pass on the message of the “positive energy” that has supported him through the darkest days of his life.
1月26日，仍在重癥監(jiān)護室的陶勇作了一首名為《心中的夢》的詩，他希望這首詩能夠傳遞支持他度過人生至暗時刻的“正能量”。
While the attacker had fractured Tao’s left hand and caused nerve damage, Tao remained dedicated to his lifelong passion to help others. He said that if he were unable to perform surgery, he would do research and make contributions to the public through activities such as leading tours for blind children and telling stories of those who have fought bravely against disease.
盡管襲醫(yī)者砍斷了陶勇的左手，導(dǎo)致神經(jīng)受損。陶勇依然致力于自己畢生所愛 —— 救死扶傷。他表示，如果自己不能重返手術(shù)臺，他還會去做研究，通過組織盲童巡演、講述與病魔勇敢搏斗的人們的故事等活動，為社會做貢獻。
“He carries a profound sympathy for patients,” his friend and former colleague Liu Ping told China Daily.
“他對于病人有著深切的同情心，”他的朋友、前同事劉平在接受《中國日報》采訪時如此表示。
Tao’s optimism toward his life after the attack have touched thousands of people online and many sent him their best wishes.
陶勇受傷后對生活的樂觀態(tài)度感動了成千上萬的網(wǎng)友，許多人都向他送上美好的祝愿。
Luckily, with his unyielding spirit, Tao returned to his post on May 13. As China Daily noted, “Tao Yong has managed to remain a beacon of optimism and kindness.”
